Abel's story
Abel has done quite the transformation since we brought him into the Rescue!  He came to us from Hurricane Harvey down in Texas last summer.  When he first came to us he was so scared, as you can imagine.  He coward in his kennel and was terrified if anyone tried to touch him.  Over him he began to relax and feel safe here.  He now has bright eyes and is the first to investigate anything new in his environment.  If anyone new comes around, he is the first to go and ask for attention.  His only quirk is that he doesn't like to be held very much.  He will come and ask for attention, rub all over you, make himself comfortable in your lap, sit with you all day long, but he does not enjoy being picked up.  This might be a habit that will always be with him.  Or he might over come it like he has done so many other things in the past 6 months.  This kitty has just barley turned one.  Which means he is still playful like a kitten, but is now technically an adult which means a lower adoption fee!  Please consider adding him to the family, you won't regret it!
